Read below as Amelia and Aadin share highlights from their Washington, D.C. experience.
“Thank you, Garden Valley, for sponsoring me for this amazing trip! This trip was definitely unforgettable and will be one of my favorite memories. I’m so glad I got to go and meet so many new people and make a ton of friends that I can still stay in touch with. My favorite parts were meeting new people and visiting all the memorials and museums. Everybody there was super nice and friendly, and the chaperones were amazing; they helped me out so much with everything! Being able to go on a trip to a big city like D.C. and learn about our history and government was inspiring me to think about what they get done, what they do for our communities. This trip was absolutely the best thing that could have happened to me, and I’m so glad I went! I got to see things that I’ve only ever seen in pictures or read about in school! Thank you so much again for this amazing opportunity!” said Amelia Warne.
Aadin also shared his thoughts on the experience: “Thank you, Garden Valley, for sponsoring me and making this incredible opportunity possible. My trip to Washington, D.C. through the Foundation for Rural Service was truly an unforgettable experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
One of the best parts of the trip was meeting so many amazing people from different places and creating friendships that I know will last long after the trip ended. It was great getting to connect with others, share experiences, and make memories together while exploring our nation’s capital.
I also enjoyed visiting the memorials, monuments, and museums throughout Washington, D.C. Seeing these historic places in person gave me a greater appreciation for our country’s history and the people who have shaped it. It was incredible to see places that I had only learned about in school or seen in pictures.
This experience helped me grow as a person by exposing me to new perspectives, teaching me more about leadership and service, and showing me the importance of supporting rural communities. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in this trip and for all the memories and friendships I gained along the way.
Thank you again, Garden Valley, for your generosity and support. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience, and I am incredibly thankful to have been a part of it.”
