Garden Valley Technologies, an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer, is now accepting resumes for a full-time Business IT Account Technician in our IT Services Department. The applicant hired will generally be scheduled 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm), and must be willing and able to work extended hours as required by workload. The reporting location for this position is Erskine, Minnesota. The person selected for this position will also be assigned to work with IT Services business customers outside the office, as required by the Company.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide technical and administrative support for client information technologies.
  • Provide end-user technical support and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to ensure hardware and software operations run effectively within the computer network.
  • Provide advanced computer and server setup, software installation and configuration, and peripheral equipment installation and integration.
  • Install new and upgraded hardware and software and assist with hardware and software stewardship and administration.
  • Monitor equipment performance, document problems, schedule and complete hardware maintenance tasks, as required, etc.
  • Perform routine system backups and data recovery.
  • Assist IT Sales Engineers and Information Systems Supervisor in all aspects of network administration (user setup, security and access, standards and procedures).
  • Participate in any job-related training required by the Company and stay abreast of technical developments and the skills needed to assume expanded job responsibilities in new service offerings.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all Company information.
  • Perform all other duties which may be assigned by management.
  • This position reports to the Information Systems Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Preference may be given to applicants with:

    • A 4-year degree in a technical or related field.
    • Knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, Microsoft Exchange, and MS Office 365. Knowledge of RMM solutions. Microsoft, Cisco, A+/Net+ certifications a plus, but not required.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards.
    • Knowledge of the Company’s products, services, policies, and procedures.

    Must have:

    • A 2-year degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent work experience and willing to acquire the appropriate training, certifications or licenses.
    • The willingness and ability, without advance notice, to work extended hours, as this position may require extended support hours and occasional night, weekend, and on-call work.
    • Knowledge of computer operating systems, web technologies, technical languages, browsers, search procedures, search engines, platforms, and applications.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and networking protocols, servers, and associated devices with the ability to make recommendations, repairs, and updates.
    • Skill in interpreting various technical documents related to this position.
    • The ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and work cooperatively with subscribers, co-workers, and the public.
    • Display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues.
    • Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.
    • Establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    • Handle multiple projects and assignments and learn and adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment.
    • Interpret, explain, and ensure compliance with departmental polices.
    • Be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
