Outdoor Wi-Fi FAQ’s

Outdoor Wi-Fi is only available to new or existing GVT Internet subscribers who have Managed Wi-Fi service and requires a GigaSpire router. The first Outdoor Wi-Fi Unit costs $9.95 per month. Additional units for extended coverage in your backyard can be added for $6.50 per month each. Our experienced Wi-Fi installers will visit your property to design a customized Wi-Fi configuration for optimal coverage. The initial walk-through and design consultation are free, but installation costs apply.

Installation costs vary depending on the specific requirements of your yard and situation. Since each setup differs—some may need wiring, others wireless, and some multiple devices—it’s challenging to provide an exact price beforehand. As a rough estimate, expect approximately $99 in labor for each Outdoor Unit, taking about an hour to install.

No, the Outdoor Units cannot be put on vacation status independently. Once installed, they’re integral to your network and cannot be paused without affecting the entire network. However, if you put your Internet service on vacation status, all mesh and Outdoor Units will also be on vacation status.

No, Outdoor Wi-Fi doesn’t require a specific time commitment or separate contract. It’s an add-on to your existing Internet service. If you decide to disconnect Outdoor Wi-Fi, equipment return is necessary.

Yes, returning the Outdoor Unit(s) is required if you disconnect either Outdoor Wi-Fi or your Internet service entirely. Our experienced installers will retrieve the equipment during a scheduled visit.

During the on-site visit, our Wi-Fi installers will assess your property and recommend the best configuration for optimal coverage.

Determining the viability of Outdoor Wi-Fi for your shop or barn requires an on-site assessment due to varying factors such as distance from the main router, obstructions, and building materials.

Yes, GVT provides a warranty on the Outdoor equipment. If any issues arise, we’ll replace the equipment at no additional cost.
