Garden Valley Technologies members once again showed strong interest through their participation in the 2025 Discounted Capital Credit Payout Program. We are grateful for the response to this voluntary opportunity, which was designed to provide members with flexible access to their capital credits while maintaining the Cooperative’s long-term financial strength.
This year’s program offered members the option to receive fifty percent of their accumulated capital credit balance from the years 2004 through 2024 as a single, discounted payout. Full program details were shared in a mailed letter on October 15, 2025, and applications were accepted online from November 4 through November 21, 2025.
To ensure fairness and accessibility, applications were accepted throughout the entire window with no advantage to applying early. All valid applications were entered into a randomized selection process conducted by independent auditing firm Olsen Thielen. Due to the program’s $3 million payout cap, not all applicants could be selected.
Member participation exceeded expectations once again, with 3,090 applications submitted. In total, nearly $12 million in allocated capital credits were requested, meaning almost $6 million was requested for payout consideration. Ultimately, 1,735 members were selected to receive a discounted payout, with an average payment of $1,878. In total, $3.24 million was returned directly to members through this program.
Members selected through the randomized process were notified by email in mid-December, and payout checks were mailed on January 14, 2026.
Members who were not selected, or who chose not to participate, retain 100 percent of their capital credit balance. Those balances remain eligible for GVT’s regular capital credit distributions, including annual payouts and quarterly 85+ retirements.
We are proud of the strong participation in this year’s program and appreciate the feedback and engagement from our membership. Programs like this help guide future decisions as we continue to balance member benefits with the financial health of the Cooperative.
Thank you to our members for your continued involvement and for helping make the 2025 Discounted Capital Credit Payout Program a success.
