The Garden Valley Education Foundation (GVEF) has awarded $5,000 technology grants to 12 local schools, along with an additional $2,664 technology grant to White Earth Tribal and Community College. The grants are intended to support the purchase of technology-related services or equipment that best fit each school’s needs.
Each of the 13 schools submitted a written request for grant funding outlining how the grant would be used and how it supports a technological need within the school.
Update: Since the original announcement, an additional $2,664 technology grant has been awarded to White Earth Tribal and Community College.
“We were excited to see how many schools wanted to take part in the grant process,” said Timothy Brinkman, CEO/General Manager of GVT. “Between these grants, our Esports sponsorship, and our Local Channel partnerships with the schools, it provides a great opportunity to be involved in the educational experience of our local students.”
The schools listed below received technology grants for the following projects:
Bagley – iPad, Apple Pencil, cameras for photography art class, including bags and memory cards
Clearbrook-Gonvick – Equipment for new graphic design class
Fertile-Beltrami – 65” Smart Board, 3D printers, and Cool Plate Super Track parts for 3D printers
Fosston – Digital signage displays
Goodridge – Daktronics video scoreboard
Grygla – Installation of new Wi-Fi switch in the elementary school
Mahnomen – Replacement of two-way radios and radio repeaters for campus communication
Red Lake County Central – Audio enhancement systems
Red Lake Falls – Security cameras installed by GVT
Thief River Falls – USB-C headphones for student devices
Warren-Alvarado-Oslo – 75″ Newline interactive board and 98″ high-definition display
White Earth Tribal and Community College – Square Register Kit, including a Square Register (2nd Generation), cash drawer, receipt printer, Square handheld device, color printer, barcode label printer, wireless handheld scanner, and related accessories
Win-E-Mac – Media class supplies and football scoreboard controller
